Lasalle County, Illinois
During this trip we studied the rocks and geology
of the Starved Rock State Park area.

Each spring break our geology department offers a class in regional and area studies. This year we went to the Guadalupe Mountains and studied Permian carbonates. There is nothing like camping out in the mountains to recharge yourself for the rest of the semester.

This Spring, the Region and Areas Studies class had the opportunity to explore and learn about the Tucson Mountain area of southern Arizona. They spent six nights camping and working.
