Learning Resource Center - Display Area

The Learning Resource Center is located in room 203 of Felmley Hall on the Illinois State University campus.

It is open to students and the public weekdays from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This room contains a collection of minerals, rocks, and fossils as well as artifacts acquired by John Wesley Powell during his exploration of the western United States.  Many of the geologic specimens were donated to Illinois State University by Mr. Lafayette Funk (Shirley, IL), and by Mr. and Mrs. John Carlon (Bloomington, IL).  The remaining specimens were collected by the faculty and staff of the Geography-Geology Department

Students and the public are welcome to visit the display during the posted times for self-guided tours.  Schools and other organization are welcome to schedule guided tours.  

Please schedule guided tours a week in advance.
